In September – October of 2020, the Gates Family Ranches (A Bar A, Big Creek, and State Line) were impacted by a nearby wildfire that burned approximately 190,000 acres. A Bar A became the forward operating base for nearly 400 wildland firefighters as they fought the fire and protected property. Ranch crews supported the fire teams with meals, shelter, and water supplies. This placed us in a unique position to document the fire first hand.
