Getting Here

Most people choose to fly into Denver, Colorado and rent a car. Total drive time from DIA to the A Bar A is just under four hours.

The closest commercial airports are Laramie, Wyoming (1.75 hours) and Steamboat Springs, Colorado (2 hours). Some guests spend a day in one of those locations before or after staying at the Ranch, and will fly into Laramie, Steamboat, or Cheyenne, Wyoming (2.5 hours).

Charter flights can also be arranged into the Ranch’s paved runway or the nearby town of Saratoga, Wyoming.

Driving Directions

For GPS Navigation: Enter A-A Road, Encampment, WY 82325. Be sure to check the route provided by the GPS against what is shown below, as seasonal road closures can affect travel. Be sure that your GPS is set to take you on major roads.

Avoid using Google Maps, as it will take you down an impassable back road.

Fastest Route From Denver International Airport to A Bar A

From airport terminal, take 470E North toward 1-25
Turn onto I-25 North toward Cheyenne
In Cheyenne, take I-80 West toward Laramie
In Laramie, take Highway 230 turnoff toward Woods Landing
Continue on 230 through Woods Landing
You will briefly cross back into Colorado on Highway 127
Turn right on Colorado 125 and continue north
You are now on Ranch property (State Line, Big Creek, and A Bar A)
Continue north and you will cross back into Wyoming
At mile marker 112, turn right onto the A Bar A driveway and overhead gate.
Our driveway is 8 miles long, so keep going!
After two miles, you will cross our paved runway
After four miles, you will be greeted at the Howdy Gate and be given directions to the office
Total time averages 3 hours 45 minutes

Private aircraft or charter flights can land on the Ranch’s paved runway or in the nearby town of Saratoga, Wyoming.
