OUR BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR STAFF INCLUDE:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age, and have at least one year of post-high school education and/or work experience.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen or have a J-1 student work visa.
  • You must be available to work from at least mid-May through late-August or late-September. Please keep in mind that about 80% of our positions require being able to work through late September.
  • You must provide two professional references.
  • If you are in college or graduated within the last 2 years, please attach a copy of your college transcript (GPA at least 3.0; unofficial copy/screenshot is acceptable). If you are a first-semester freshman, please submit your high school transcript.
  • You should demonstrate a genuine interest in working with and serving others.
  • You should be able to live and work successfully within a small community of peers and contribute as a positive team member.
  • You should be interested in the opportunity to have a unique experience—not simply a summer job.
  • A Bar A Ranch is a drug-free workplace. All staff are expected to remain drug-free, and the Ranch reserves the right to conduct drug testing.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Monthly salaries vary. Housing, meals, optional 401k, and access to Ranch facilities are additional benefits. End-of-season bonuses are distributed in late October to staff members who successfully complete their employment contracts.

HIRING TIMELINE for Summer 2027:

  • Applications for the 2027 summer season will be available on our website beginning October 15, 2026.
  • We begin reviewing applications in November.
  • Only complete applications will be considered. A complete application includes a résumé, transcript, and two professional references.
  • Video and phone interviews begin in mid-November and continue until hiring is complete.
  • Hiring decisions and job offers are made on a rolling basis, with the majority of positions filled by mid-January.
  • We strongly encourage applicants to submit their completed application by December 1 for the best opportunity to be considered for an interview.

A Bar A operates as a team, and all staff members should be prepared to support different areas of the Ranch as needed.

Applicants may request consideration for more than one position. Please list positions on your application in order of preference.

Before applying, please make sure your availability meets our 2027 summer employment requirements. For the 2027 season, our latest start date is May 24 and our earliest end date is August 29. The majority of our positions require availability through late September; please refer to the application for the specific dates required for each position.
